KCR Solutions are delighted to be working with this family owned SME based in Durham in their search for an experienced Financial Controller. You will report to the General Manager and take full responsibility for the finance function.

Our client is looking for a Qualified Accountant to work part time within the business. Approx 3 days per week. The role is to be office based.

THE ROLE

  • Full ownership and delivery of the finance function
  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of monthly board pack presenting these reports and discuss finding with the GM.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Variance analysis
  • Preparation and reconciliation of VAT Returns
  • Assisting with other compliance reporting including payroll taxes and CIS.
  • Financial modelling
  • Statutory accounts production and year end reporting
  • Identify financial risks and assist with/develop risk management plans
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Cashflow forecasting and annual budgeting
  • Reconcile accounting reports to nominal ledger, identify and highlight poor profit making / loss-making areas.
  • Lead the monthly stock count process including coordination, count process, reconciliations, valuations and obsolescence provisions.
  • Preparation of audit packs and liaising with external Accountants
  • Approval of journals and financial statements
  • Profit and loss accounts
  • Corporation Tax computations
  • Undertaking payroll responsibilities
  • Integration of systems and process improvements
  • Lead and develop the finance team, being the first point of contact for any issues
