Our Public Sector client based in Durham requires a Project Support Officer to assist in the Regeneration, Economy & Growth Department.

The role is office based and subject to flexitime, £13.26 per hour and due to run through until the end of March 2025. The role could be extended for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Business Services Manager the main purpose of the role is to establish and maintain monitoring and financial record-keeping systems for the Enterprising Durham Framework and other externally funded projects delivered by Business Durham.

To coordinate the gathering of information from procured sub-contractors, ensuring appropriate records are up to date and accurate, carry out analysis, and produce reports as required for the monitoring and management of projects.
To organise meetings of Project Management Groups and provide information on the financial and performance aspects of projects and programmes liaising with sub-contractors as appropriate.
To manage the financial aspects of the Enterprising Durham Framework Project, including making payments, following up receipts, and the preparation of information required for quarterly financial claims, reports and grant payments.
To prepare quarterly and end of year grant claims, liaising with officers in the DCC Funding and Programmes Team.
To take the lead on compliance for externally funded projects ensuring that project files and paperwork required for monitoring and audit purposes are kept up to date and maintained in accordance with the funder's evidence requirements.
To place orders for any necessary expenditure as required for projects in accordance with local authority systems and maintain the necessary budgetary files and invoice and payment systems.
To assist in the researching, planning and implementation of enterprise and business start-up services delivered by Business Durham
To provide general administrative and related support services to Business Durham service managers and officers.
To respond to data requests for management and performance monitoring reports, ensuring that systems and procedures are in place for an effective performance monitoring framework and with a view to continuous improvement.
To assist in the development and management of appropriate Business Durham management information, communication, data and customer relationship systems and processes.
To undertake time limited projects as agreed with Business Durham management team
To undertake any such duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the level of responsibility and competence of the post.

The role requires the candidate to be qualified to NVQ Level 4 in a relevant discipline to be successfull
