The Role:

Our client is a well established manufacturing organisation with market leading products serving a wide range of industry sectors from a facility in County Durham.

Due to business expansion they are currently looking to strengthen the technical team with an ambitious Engineer or Senior Technician who will take responsibility for supporting the introduction of new products into the business from initial enquiry stage through to full production handover.

The role is broad with varied responsibilities, but will include the following as the role evolves and the experience develops:

* Supporting the enquiry and tendering stages with manufacturing feasibility assessment.
* Facilitation of design and development activities in line with the project plan, including compliance to technical standards within specific sectors and product performance etc.
* Development of manufacturing plans, including bill of materials, manufacturing and process layout, standard operating procedures and assessment of any capital equipment required.
* Facilitation of materials / components / tooling sourcing activities.
* Project planning and control.


The Person:

Candidates should hold a recognised technical qualification to HNC/HND or Degree level in a relevant subject. Degree qualified candidates should have at least 2 years industry experience in a relevant role/environment and HNC/HND qualified individuals at least 4 years with some direct NPI/Project Engineering exposure.

Candidates should be ambitious self starters, with excellent planning and communication skills.

Previous experience (or relevant qualifications) in an electrical/electronics environment would be highly advantageous.
