Job Overview:

The Permit to Work Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of all work activities within an organization. This position oversees and manages the permit to work (PTW) system, ensuring that all work is planned and executed in accordance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. The coordinator works closely with various departments, including operations, maintenance, and safety teams, to guarantee smooth permit issuance, tracking, and completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate PTW Process: Oversee the issuance, monitoring, and closure of permits for all operational and maintenance activities.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with the company's safety policies and procedures.

Hazard Identification: Review work scopes to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate risk assessments are completed.

Collaboration: Work closely with different departments (operations, maintenance, safety) to ensure seamless communication and efficient permit approvals.

Permit Holder Training: Ensure permit holders are trained and understand their responsibilities while working under a permit.

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor ongoing work activities to verify compliance with permit conditions and safety standards.

Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of issued permits and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.

PTW Meetings: Organize and lead PTW meetings, ensuring all parties are aware of work activities and associated risks.

Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents or accidents during permitted work, providing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

System Improvement: Continuously improve the PTW system by reviewing and updating procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field (preferred).

Certifications: Certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is a plus.

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within [industry].
