Our client, a leading site investigation contractor providing comprehensive ground investigation services, including drilling, contract management, and trial pitting, across sectors such as commercial, highway, rail, nuclear, and public across the UK.

Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) across all their operations, they are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their team.

HSEQ Advisor

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and systems in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, identifying and rectifying potential hazards.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure all site activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation, including those specific to drilling rigs and ground investigation services.
  • Provide HSEQ guidance and support to site supervisors, drilling crews, and other personnel.
  • Deliver HSEQ training and presentations to staff, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety laws, industry regulations, and best practices, especially those related to drilling and site investigation.
  • Prepare detailed reports on HSEQ performance, presenting findings to senior management and clients as required.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of HSEQ activities, including audit reports, training logs, and incident investigations.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure HSEQ considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Act as the company's HSEQ representative during client and regulatory body meetings or inspections.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Proven experience in a similar HSEQ role, preferably within the ground investigation or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and incident investigations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and deliver presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability and want to learn quickly, particularly in relation to drilling rigs and associated safety requirements.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home to conduct side audits.
