Principal Ecologist (Durham or Kent)
An interesting opportunity to join agrowing multi-disciplinary firm with UK-wide projects, offering flexible remote/hybrid working options.This position will suit an experienced Principal looking for a new challenge keen to work onsmall developments to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments
- Manage client relationships, projects, and ecological surveys
- Lead a team
- Ensure high-quality report reviews (PEAs, EIAs, Method Statements)
- Oversee mitigation plans for protected species (e.g., bats, great crested newts)
Requirements:
- Experience with ecological assessments (Habitat Regulations Assessment, ES Chapters, Ecological Impact Assessments and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals)
- UK/EPSM licence as named ecologist (Class 2 Bat andGreat Crested Newt licence desirable)
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
- CIEEM membership and proficiency in ArcGIS
