We are hiring an R&D Applications Engineer to join our clients fast-growing biotechnology team. This is a multidisciplinary role, ideal for engineers who enjoy working across mechanical design, electronics, and automation to develop advanced, high-performance systems.

You'll be part of a collaborative R&D team driving innovation in automated instrumentation and scientific technology, with the freedom to experiment, prototype, and engineer novel solutions that impact real-world applications.


What Youll Be Doing:

  • Designing and developing complex electro-mechanical systems, from concept to functional prototype.
  • Programming automation control systems in C, and integrating sensors, actuators, and other devices.
  • Creating detailed engineering documentation using SolidWorks (3D models, schematics, BOMs).
  • Hands-on build, test, and troubleshooting of systems in a lab-based environment.
  • Working closely with internal design, biology, and quality teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Owning engineering work packages and managing delivery timelines in a supportive, autonomous environment.


Experience were looking for:

  • A proactive, curious problem-solver whos comfortable working both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and comfort selecting components across both mechanical and electrical domains.
  • Programming skills in C (not essential)
  • Knowledge of control systems, microfluidics, pressure systems, or biomedical engineering would be a bonus however not essential
  • Proven experience in developing automated, software-controlled systems ideally for scientific, biotech, or industrial applications.
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Automation Engineering, OR equivalent hands-on experience in an R&D setting.
