My client is looking to appoint a Senior Tender Planner to join them on a permanent basis. My client is a regional main contractor who deliver projects across a range of sectors including residential, health, education, industrial and commercial. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing professional tender programmes with associated construction methodologies as well as supporting the Bid Manager with written quality responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thorough review of tender documentation to determine key information, e.g. project constraints which provide the foundation for tender programmes
  • Attendance at site visits to ensure full understanding of proposed schemes
  • Meetings with subcontractors, designers and stakeholders to ensure accurate programme allowances, driving best value and innovative proposals
  • Produce well-constructed and considered logic linked tender programmes built from first principle planning, with defined critical path and resource allocation
  • Produce phasing plans, traffic management plans and methodology diagrams to support tender reviews and quality questions
  • Liaise with the Bid/Technical Manager and tender teams and play a part in the successful conclusion of each tender opportunity
  • Attend tender settlements and present the programme, preliminaries and logistical aspects
  • Produce labour and plant schedules that reflect the nature of each individual project
  • Contribute to the risk and opportunity schedule
  • Confidence in attending Client interviews, mid tender briefings etc
  • Advise site team and/or senior management of areas of concern
  • Develop skills of other planning staff


Experience and qualifications

  • Appropriate Civil Engineering Qualification (HNC / Degree etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years' site leadership experience within Civil Engineering
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Project (Primary) and Primavera P6 (Secondary)
  • Experience planning a range of Civil Engineering Schemes - values £0.5m - £10m
  • UK driving licence
