We are looking for an exceptional Head of School to start at a new SEND school in Durham.
As Head of School, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and student well-being. Working with students with SEN (Special Educational Needs), your role is multifaceted. Beyond overseeing the general operations of the school, you play a crucial part in fostering an inclusive environment that supports the unique needs of these students.
You will need a proactive and compassionate approach, ensuring that both the staff and the school community are equipped to support all students effectively. Your leadership can help ensure that all students are given equal opportunities to succeed and thrive.

Essential criteria for this role:
- At least three years’ experience as a senior leader in either mainstream or special educational needs schools
- Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
- Willingness to extend personal and professional development
- Ability to lead and provide a clear vision
- Appreciation and understanding that leadership and management of school encompasses processes contributing to pupil outcomes, staff motivation, keeping pupils safe, filling the school with pupils, managing costs, meeting regulatory requirements and applying growth plans as appropriate
