Social Worker - Connected Carers Team (Form C and SGO Assessments)

About Us:
Randstad is excited to partner with the Connected Carers Team in Durham to recruit a dedicated Social Worker.
In this role, you will be responsible for completing Form C and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments to ensure that carers are equipped to provide safe and supportive homes for children.

Job Description:
As a Social Worker within the Connected Carers Team, you will conduct comprehensive assessments of potential carers to determine their suitability for caring for children under kinship arrangements.
You will play a critical role in evaluating and supporting carers through the assessment process, focusing on providing secure and nurturing environments for children.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Form C assessments and SGO assessments for connected carers, evaluating their ability to care for children in kinship arrangements.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on assessments and present findings to the court and fostering panel where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with carers, children, and multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Provide support and guidance to carers throughout the assessment process, addressing any concerns or needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all work is compliant with legal and professional standards.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, strategy discussions, and court proceedings where required.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience in fostering, kinship care, or related assessments such as Form C or SGO.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within tight deadlines.
