About the Role:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to join our team at Hawthorn House. In this role, you will support service users with all aspects of their daily living activities, ensuring they receive high-quality care in a safe and homely environment. You will be working in a person-centred way, encouraging independence while providing essential support tailored to individual needs.

This role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to promoting dignity and well-being. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake waking night duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and administer medication as per individual care plans.
  • Use specialist equipment where necessary to meet care needs.
  • Support individuals with behaviours that challenge, following established care plans.
  • Encourage service users to participate in activities and develop their interests.
  • Work in compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and other policies are strictly followed.
  • Support service users in community engagement, such as shopping and social events.
  • Maintain a clean and homely environment.
  • Respect individuals' rights to dignity, choice, and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to service user care.
  • Report any concerns or risks to the appropriate line manager.
  • Attend team meetings and training to maintain professional development.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and waking nights, to meet service user needs.
