Desktop Support Engineer

A Desktop Support Engineer is required on an initial 6-month contract supporting an end client based in Durham. This position is a part-time contract with flexibility on working arrangements.

The successful Desktop Support Engineer will be working onsite providing real-time IT support to End Users across the company. Tasked with working across a broad range of technologies and liaising across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Also responsible for ticket management and escalation, explaining the solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

Desktop Support Engineer - technical skills / experience required:

  • Previous experience within a Desktop support or similar IT support role
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Able to identify, log and resolve technical problems with software, hardware and network systems
  • Comfortable providing remote support when needed
  • Exposure to ticket management and response
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
