THE ROLE

As part of the Management Team, you will be responsible for leading the production team to meet production targets while maintaining a high level of quality control and safety standards. You will be responsible for managing daily production activities to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for supervising the production team and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining a safe working environment.

You will work closely with Contracts, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Health and Safety and HR. Some of your duties will include:

  • Supervise the production team, including training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure a high level of performance and productivity
  • Plan and organise production schedules to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently and on time
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet production targets and maintain quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
  • Ensure that production documentation, such as standard operating procedures and work instructions, are up-to-date and followed by production staff
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Production Engineering, to ensure that production goals are aligned with overall business objectives
  • Manage and maintain production equipment to ensure that they are kept in good working condition
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure that production is aligned with demand
  • Provide regular reports on production performance to senior management
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality
  • Lead the implementation of new production technologies, processes, and equipment


THE PERSON

You will be a highly motivated, driven individual who puts the customer at the centre of everything you do. You will contribute to the growth and success of the business through your skills and experience and you will have:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, 1 year in joinery background; and with at least 1 year in a supervisory role

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to operate in a face paced environment with changing demands
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling tools, and other manufacturing software tools
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies as an advantage
