Our client EPPH require an experienced Buyer to join their team based in the Durham, UK. Reporting to Service and Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for managing supplier relationships to ensure that procurement activities are achieved safely, according to time and budget.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and sourcing products that align with the companys brand and customer preferences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Ensure that goods, materials, and services are procured in accordance with specified requirements.
- Meet the suppliers to discuss products and pricing.
- Liaise with vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure correct rates and trading terms and delivery schedules.
- Develop additional or alternative sources of supply and maintain lists of accepted vendors.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding product quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Raise and maintain purchase orders as required and match invoices to purchase orders.
- Expedite all outstanding purchase orders.
- Coordinate and update register in line with project budgets.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
- Liaise with the operational teams in respect of stock levels, transfer and deliveries and assist where possible.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, including contracts, orders, and supplier correspondence.
- Support Procurement Manager with administrative tasks and special projects as required.
- Ensure end of month invoicing of goods is carried out appropriately.
- Adherence to internal procedures and good purchasing practice
- Safety ensure safety and well-being of self and others.
