- Act as a central point of contact - advising key internal stakeholders as to procurement best practice, routes to market and will consult upon contract management, negotiations etc
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, supporting key procurement projects/procurement requirements
- Ensure compliance and support the correct completion of tender documentation before launching and managing tender process/mini competitions across specific categories
- Review tender responses and quotations - focusing upon best value
- Supplier relationship management, contract management
- Mentor less experienced team members
- Market and spend analysis of specific category portfolio
- Proven track record within a similar Indirect procurement role - experience of public sector procurement preferred
- Procurement experience of any of the following categories beneficial - Construction, FM, Corporate Services, IT
- Commercially focused, experienced in end to end tender process (including spec-writing), strengths in supplier relationship management essential
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building skills
- Assertive and self-sufficient with strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple projects and to work on own initiative
- Diligent and analytical with a keen eye for detail
- CIPS/partial-CIPS beneficial not essential
