The OrganisationNigel Wright's  Supply Chain and Procurement Team are working with a dynamic, not for profit organisation seeking to employ a Procurement Category Manager to work within a dedicated Procurement Team.The Client will support 2 days' home-working, 3 days' office-based and offers flexible start and finish times.The OpportunityThe Procurement Category Manager will manage specific categories - the key remit of the Procurement Category Manager will include the following: 
  • Act as a central point of contact - advising key internal stakeholders as to procurement best practice, routes to market and will consult upon contract management, negotiations etc
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, supporting key procurement projects/procurement requirements
  • Ensure compliance and support the correct completion of tender documentation before launching and managing tender process/mini competitions across specific categories
  • Review tender responses and quotations - focusing upon best value 
  • Supplier relationship management, contract management
  • Mentor less experienced team members
  • Market and spend analysis of specific category portfolio
About You
  • Proven track record within a similar Indirect procurement role - experience of public sector procurement preferred 
  • Procurement experience of any of the following categories beneficial - Construction, FM, Corporate Services, IT
  • Commercially focused, experienced in end to end tender process (including spec-writing), strengths in supplier relationship management essential
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building skills 
  • Assertive and self-sufficient with strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple projects and to work on own initiative
  • Diligent and analytical with a keen eye for detail
  • CIPS/partial-CIPS beneficial not essential
