Procurement Manager

12 month FTC

Durham Area

Hybrid 2-3 days in Office

Grafton Recruitment is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to join a public sector organisation on a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC).

Given the breadth of commodities you will be involved in and size of some of the contracts, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and expand your skillset in procurement.

You will manage a diverse set of goods and services contracts and tenders for the organisation guiding a number of less experienced procurement professionals through the procurement process.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading procurement projects through supplier identification, tendering, evaluation, and award of contracts.
  • Overseeing contracts, driving value, and supporting strategic business initiatives.
  • Driving improvement in process and identifying opportunity for increased value.
  • Managing ongoing supplier relationships and acting as point of escalation with suppliers.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to establish and maintain strong commercial agreements.
  • Analysis of data and spend analysis.
  • Supporting and developing team colleagues through procurement process.

Requirements:

  • Experience in procurement, ideally within the public sector.
  • Management of complex contracts.
  • Strong background in tendering and contract management.
  • Proven track record in supplier relationship and stakeholder management.
  • Ideally studying or qualified to MCIPS level or equivalent
