We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care team in Durham on a locum basis for 3 months. Your role will be essential in supporting the enhanced care of children, balancing hands-on support with strategic oversight. This position requires you to work full time, with the flexibility of being office-based 1-2 times per week, accommodating duty days and team meetings.Perks and benefits:

  • Manage a reduced caseload of 15-18 children within the Children in Care service.
  • Support social workers completing their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Collaborate with families and connected carers to work towards achieving legal permanence for children by discharging Care Orders.
  • Attend and contribute to duty days and team meetings, providing valuable input and strategic guidance.
  • Work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Make informed decisions that uphold the best interests of the children and their families.
