Connected Carers Team - Qualified Social Worker

As a Qualified Social Worker in our Connected Carers Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and assessing potential foster carers, ensuring the well-being and safety of children in need. This position involves working closely with families, partner agencies, and the local community to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Support: Conduct thorough assessments of prospective foster carers, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria and provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.

  2. Manage a caseload of connected carer cases, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, and collaborating with other professionals to develop and implement care plans.

  3. Provide ongoing support and guidance to connected carers, offering assistance in managing challenging situations and promoting the well-being of both carers and children.

  4. Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including schools, health professionals, and local authorities, to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to the care of children.

  5. Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, attending hearings as required and advocating for the best interests of the children under your care.

  6. Intervene in crisis situations, providing immediate support and working towards effective resolution to safeguard the welfare of children.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • DBS on the update service
  • Proven experience in child protection and working with connected carers.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills.
