MASH Social worker We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children Social Worker to join our dynamic Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. In this non-case holding role, you will play a vital role in promoting the safety and well-being of children at risk in our community.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support: Offer specialist knowledge and expertise in child protection to other agencies, including police, education, health, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Contribute to MASH decision-making: Participate in MASH meetings, providing informed analysis and recommendations to ensure effective responses to referrals and safeguarding concerns.
  • Facilitate inter-agency communication and collaboration: Build strong relationships with other professionals and agencies, fostering effective communication and collaboration to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding children.
  • Conduct initial assessments and reviews: Analyse information and evidence from referrals, undertaking initial assessments to determine the level of risk and appropriate actions required.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships: Establish effective communication with families, ensuring they understand their role in safeguarding their children.
  • Contribute to service development: Identify areas for improvement within the MASH, promoting best practice and contributing to the ongoing development of the team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker: Must hold a relevant Social Work qualification (e.g. DipSW, BSc, MA) and be registered with Social Care England.
  • Experience in child protection: Proven experience working in a child protection setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport with colleagues, professionals, and families, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
