Prospero Teaching are looking for resilient and experienced Teaching Assistants to work in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Durham on a full-time and part-time basis. The role will involve working across KS1 and KS2. This role will involve:· Supporting young people with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. · Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and consistent manner. · Building positive relationships with students and staff · Having a "hands on" approach to supporting children in their learning, with a willingness to interact with pupils and engage with them. · Working with Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience. Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal, some may require personal care and others may display challenging behaviour. As a result, your adaptability, resilience and relationship-building skills as a practitioner will be key. It is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day. This role requires:· An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you) · An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff. · A resilient, proactive, and positive nature · Experience in classrooms supporting students. · High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils. · A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education. · An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
