Overview:

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a longstanding client based in the North East. Our client is from the construction industry and we are currently recruiting for the masonry support business unit. The Technical Specification Manager is responsible for determining the needs of the customer, developing design intent, estimating, calculating and pricing solutions for masonry support, wind post and brick slip solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews enquiries for completeness of information and engages with customer
  • Representatives to develop an understanding of the required solutions
  • Engages with and advises architects, engineers, construction teams on design solutions and potential improvements. Acts as key point of contact.
  • Determines solution design based on information available and specifies the best technical and most cost-effective solution
  • Delivers CPD and other company and product specific awareness sessions to customer representatives.
  • Creation of relevant information such as specifications, BoM, mark-up drawings, quotes and any other supporting information necessary.

Person specification:

  • Engineering qualification in a discipline associated with the construction industry
  • Experience in specifying and/or designing Masonry Support solutions
  • Able to interpret construction drawings and extract relevant technical information
  • Fully competent with CAD systems
  • Familiar with the Masonry Support market and understanding of the construction process
  • Well-connected within the construction industry
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial, analytical, organized, with clear communication skills
  • Brings a great attitude to an ambitious business
