Hydraulic Modeller - North East

£ 52,000 - 60,000 DOE

We are assisting a leading construction and utility contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions. Due to continued growth, the company now needs a detail oriented Hydraulic Modeller to join their team in the North East. As Hydraulic Modeller you will support the planning, design, and analysis of water systems. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining hydraulic models, conducting risk assessments, and providing data-driven insights to support projects which require strong analytical skills, proficiency in UK water industry-standard, modelling software, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. This role is on a hybrid set up (few days work from home and few days on-site).

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Develop, calibrate, and validate hydraulic models for water supply, drainage, and wastewater networks.

  • Use modelling tools to analyze network capacity, pressure, and flow patterns, conduct risk assessments, and develop strategies to eliminate risks.

  • Collaborate with engineers and assist in the planning and design to develop cost-effective and sustainable solutions.

  • Work closely with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders, including updates on designstatus, performance, risks, and issues.

  • Relevant modelling experience gained in either a consultancy or a water company ideally discipline-specific data analysis packages, which is water-focused such as InfoWorks or InfoAsset.

  • Strong knowledge in modelling software using InfoWorks ICM and associated bolt-on packages.

  • Good knowledge of the UK water industry, GIS Systems preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS, Excel, and Visual Basic.

  • Proficiency in manipulation and handling of large datasets.

  • Effective communication skills with ability to convey complex project information clearly and effectively.
