Company Overview:Our client is a growing organisation based in Dursley, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team.

Job Purpose:The Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance department by managing monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This individual will provide valuable insights to senior management to drive informed decision-making and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation and ongoing monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights to stakeholders.
Cost Control: Monitor and control departmental costs, ensuring effective financial management and highlighting areas for improvement.
Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions, including margin analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and pricing strategies.
Month-End Close: Ensure timely and accurate month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, accruals, and journals.
Compliance & Controls: Assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Support year-end audits and liaise with auditors.
Systems & Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of accounting systems and processes, identifying areas for efficiency gains.
Ad-hoc Projects: Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required by senior management.

Skills and Experience Required:

A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or QBE with relevant experience.
Strong experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and systems.
Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
Effective communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Self-motivated and proactive, with a keen eye for detail.
Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment is desirable.
