Software Developer £Competitive + Excellent BenefitsEarlston – Scottish Borders (TD4 6JA) Remote position.

The role is Based in our Head Office with the option for remote working where necessary. As a Software Developer you will be an integral member of our IT team reporting directly to our Software Development Manager. Your role will focus on delivering quality software solutions that meet our ongoing business needs, whilst ensuring they are fully aligned with current IT strategies. You will offer key analysis on both business and systems requirements, as well as providing technical guidance and support to our users.

Specifically, responsibilities of a Software Developer include:
  • Developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining existing in-house core software systems.
  • Troubleshooting production system issues and undertaking problem resolution tasks.
  • Maintaining existing levels of integration between in-house systems.
  • Reviewing existing software solutions and making recommendations for improvement on system integrations and core software systems.
  • Providing solutions for new integrations and assessing their suitability from a technical and business perspective.
  • Assist in supporting your junior colleagues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Producing reports on software performance and preparation of training manuals for end users.
About you:

As an experienced Software Developer, you’ll have a keen attention to detail, along with the know-how to identify and resolve problems. Ideally, experienced working within a large scale, multi-site business, you’ll also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, linked to proven expertise in current computer hardware or software applications.
  • First rate communication and relationship building skills, coupled the ability to motivate, coach and develop junior members of the team.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, .NET, Python, Microsoft SQL Server and Flutter would be desirable but not essential.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travelling to our sites across the UK.
