Reed Finance are currently partner with an established client in the East Grinstead area in the recruitment of a Financial Controller/Parts Manager to join their UK team. This role is crucial for leading, directing, and managing site operations and maintaining financial control of the accounting function to ensure consistent and reliable results. As Financial Controller/Parts Manager you will have responsibilities spanning across the UK, Ireland, and Mainland Europe.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Preparation of monthly and annual divisional accounts.
  • Managing banking and cash flow forecasting.
  • Management of UK Office Building Administration & repairs.
  • Sales invoicing of cranes and supervision of parts sales and inventory control, including management of bi-annual stock takes.
  • Budgetary control and analysis.
  • Purchase Ledger Management and Supplier Payments.
  • Credit Control Supervision and management and Customer Statement Reconciliations.
  • Liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and company secretarial services.
  • Salary administration and processing.
  • Liaison with Parent company logistics team for shipments and management of Import and customs clearance through 3rd party clearing agents.
  • VAT control and reconciliation of quarterly returns including VAT deferred and Postponed statements.
  • Working closely with suppliers and office in Japan to resolve spare parts queries in a timely manner and take action to prevent further problems.
  • Monitoring priorities of customer parts orders according to their ordering request e.g., breakdown orders or stock orders etc.
  • Developing Regional parts sales and marketing strategy to improve after-sales service capabilities.
  • Developing and planning of sales promotional campaigns where necessary based on data-driven analysis.
  • Reporting to Division Director, Parent company Finance Manager and Group Company Logistics, Parts and finance departments.
  • Propose and execute ideas for the improvement of daily operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Financial Accounting/Control and customer services, back office, logistics or similar environment.
  • Flexible and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; knowledge of SAGE and/or SAP is an advantage.
