The Opportunity

Lloyd Recruitment Services is working with a well-established family-run business in East Grinstead, seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join their team. This role offers a varied and hands-on workload, supporting financial operations within the construction industry. Sage 50 and CIS experience are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management - Process payroll accurately using Sage 50
  • Bank Reconciliation - Maintain and reconcile financial records
  • Ledger Management - Oversee purchase & sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy
  • Credit Control - Chase overdue payments and manage outstanding invoices
  • Tax & Compliance - Prepare and submit CIS & VAT returns
  • CITB Levy - Manage the CITB Levy process and ensure timely submissions
  • Month-End & Year-End Support - Assist with financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Contract Support - Assist Contract Managers with invoicing, payment certificates, and financial documentation
  • Financial Systems - Maintain and update records, ensuring compliance with company policies

What You'll Need

  • Essential: Previous bookkeeping experience within the construction industry
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 - including payroll processing
  • Strong CIS knowledge - with experience submitting CIS returns
  • Advanced IT skills - particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail - strong organisational and problem-solving skills
