Trainee Teaching Assistant - Outskirts of East Grinstead - Driving Required Due to Location

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the educational and personal development of students, ensuring their welfare and safety
  • Work alongside teachers to offer focused assistance to individual students or small groups
  • Maintain a well-organised, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Encourage positive behaviour and assist students during lessons, breaks, and other activities
  • Assist in the preparation of learning resources and the management of classroom duties
  • Communicate clearly with staff, students, and parents to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Follow school policies related to health, safety, and student well-being
  • Drive the school van or your own vehicle for off-site activities, when necessary

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification, or actively working towards one
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Ability to work well within a team and support a positive learning environment
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with a range of abilities
