This role is crucial for leading and developing the academic curriculum, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and meets the diverse needs of all learners. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to uphold our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to implement and refine the school’s strategic plan.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the academic curriculum, ensuring it is integrated effectively across the school and recognized as outstanding.
  • Develop and implement teaching and learning strategies that enhance the knowledge, understanding, and progress of all learners.
  • Oversee a comprehensive range of professional development activities for staff, including the leadership of the quality cycle and staff performance management.
  • Establish and monitor policies aimed at achieving the school’s objectives, ensuring they contribute to effective learning and efficient staff deployment.
  • Manage educational staff and resources, optimizing timetables for student choice, effective learning, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain a commitment to the classroom as necessary, demonstrating best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Uphold the school’s policies on safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in educational leadership, particularly in curriculum development and management.
  • Strong ability to lead and inspire a team of educational professionals.
  • Excellent understanding of effective teaching strategies and curriculum standards.
