We are seeking a dedicated Head of Safeguarding and Therapies to join our team. This pivotal role involves working closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to provide high-quality professional leadership, ensuring the integration of safeguarding, therapy, and wellbeing strategies across the school. The successful candidate will lead the development of these areas, ensuring they are an integral part of our outstanding educational offer.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to implement the strategic plan and meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Lead the development and integration of the safeguarding, therapy, and wellbeing curriculum, including behaviour and attendance.
  • Manage and develop strategies to address the special educational needs and disabilities of learners.
  • Oversee a comprehensive range of professional development activities for staff, including leadership and coordination of the quality cycle and staff performance management.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, taking lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school.
  • Schedule timetables to optimise learner choice, effective learning, efficient staff deployment, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage staff and resources effectively, ensuring policies are established to achieve the school’s aims and objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and therapy within an educational context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to strategise, implement, and evaluate the impact of safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Qualifications in safeguarding, therapy, or related fields are highly desirable.
