Assistant Head Housekeeper

ASSISTANT HEAD HOUSEKEEPER, required for a prestigious hotel located in the East Grinstead area, Sussex.

As Assistant Head Housekeeper, you will join the Housekeeping team reporting to an experienced Head Housekeeper. You will share responsibility for the supervision of a full time team of housekeeping assistants, linen porters and cleaners, as well as an inhouse maintenance team to support you.

As Assistant Head Housekeeper, you will be an energetic person, with a good eye for detail, to ensure excellent standards of cleanliness in guest bedrooms and bathrooms. Ensuring that all guest bedrooms are well presented ready for the guest return in the evening.

The Role

• Working 8 hrs per day, Up to 40hrs over 5 days per week.
• Start times can be available from 8am
• Responsible for the smooth operation and cleanliness of your allocated floor of bedrooms
• Supervise floor housekeepers & laundry assistants
• Check cleaned bedrooms and stayovers
• Support the Head Housekeeper when they are on days off or on leave
• Cleaning guest bedrooms when required
• Assisting with daily & monthly stock takes
• Routine inspection of guest bedrooms to ensure they meet standards
• Achieve positive outcomes from guest requests in a timely and efficient manner
• Supervise and carry out lost and found procedures
• Report maintenance issues to Maintenance Department
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

As Assistant Head Housekeeper, candidate requirements include:

• Good attention to detail
• Previous experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor ideally in a quality hotel
• Enthusiastic about cleaning and presentation
• Methodical in working routines

The salary for the role of Assistant Head Housekeeper is given as £27,000 per annum (£25,000 + £2,000 per annum guaranteed service charge payment paid quarterly), with an additional end of financial year service charge bonus also paid. Other range of company benefits available also with this company. Transport will be required for this role due to location and shifts.
