Pastoral Support Assistant Wanted for School in East Grinstead

The role of the Pastoral Support Assistant involves setting appropriate boundaries for students who have additional behavioural needs, and may exhibit complex barriers to learning. As a result of your strength of practice you will support other staff in their development in these areas.

  • Providing care to pupils, ensuring their safety and dealing with any problems the pupils may have
  • Liaising with other staff members, parents/guardians and professionals
  • Prepare letters and paperwork when needed
  • Following GDPR & Safeguarding protocol
  • Resilient and instinctive approach in meeting studentsā€™ needs
  • Use behaviour management strategies effectively and be able to work using your own initiative while following policies and procedures
  • High level of flexibility and will welcome the opportunity to work in different settings with different approaches to engage learners

About the Role:

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with children with complex needs.
  • Confident in managing behaviour and supporting diverse learning requirements.
  • Ability to build meaningful professional relationships with students.
  • Support for non-verbal children and those facing communication challenges.
  • A fun yet firm presence in the classroom.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
