We are recruiting for an Alternative Provision in East Sussex. We are inviting an inspirational Teaching Assistant – Mentor to be part of a dedicated team. The school caters for 4–16-year-olds excluded from mainstream education, and are focused on enhancing and expanding services to meet their needs.

Day to day of the role:
  • Support pupils in accessing lessons and overcoming educational and social challenges.
  • Provide both classroom and pastoral support, collaborating with teachers to create impactful learning programs.
  • Serve as a supportive pastoral contact for all pupils and assist tutors as part of the tutor team.
  • Supervise classes during staff absences, ensuring the delivery of quality education.
  • Foster and advocate for meaningful relationships with young people who have faced barriers in mainstream education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A naturally enthusiastic, flexible, and supportive approach to education.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with students.
  • A keen willingness to learn and pursue professional development.
  • Commitment to receiving appropriate training as needed for the role.
