Overview: We’re currently working with a well-established, growing accountancy firm in Eastbourne, looking to recruit an experienced and hands-on Audit and Account Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional who enjoys a varied client base and a balance of audit, accounts, and client advisory responsibilities. A great step for someone seeking more autonomy, leadership, and progression toward senior management or partnership level.

 

The Role: As Audit and Accounts Manager, you'll manage your own portfolio of clients, oversee audits from planning through to completion, and review statutory accounts and tax work. You’ll play a key role in developing junior staff, maintaining strong client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth of the practice.

 

Key Responsibilities: Manage and deliver audit assignments from planning to final review

 

Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102

 

Oversee corporate tax compliance and assist with ad hoc tax planning

 

Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors

 

Review work prepared by juniors and semi-seniors, providing support and guidance

 

Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact

 

Monitor job budgets, workflow, and deadlines

 

Work closely with partners on advisory assignments and new business development

 

Requirements: ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)

 

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UK practice, with a strong audit and accounts background

 

Proven experience managing a portfolio and leading audits

 

Excellent technical knowledge of FRS 102, UK GAAP, and tax compliance

 

Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills

 

Comfortable working closely with clients and managing a small team

 

Familiar with cloud-based software (e.g., Xero, CaseWare, IRIS, or similar)
