My client is searching for a Legal Assistant to join their Wills and Probate team based in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

The role is broad and varied, requiring outstanding organisation skills and attention to detail to provide efficient and effective general administrative support to the team.

Duties

• Opening/closing files and ensuring the matter is dealt with in accordance with the firm’s procedures• Gaining knowledge of files to enable effective communication with clients and other members of the team • Liaising with our new client team regarding engagement and anti-money laundering requirements • Managing client appointments and preparing the necessary paperwork for meetings• Receiving and making telephone calls to clients and other third party organisations • Preparing documents for the team• Keeping electronic files and other firm records/databases updated • Preparing accurate file notes and minutes of meetings • Scanning and filing incoming post and documents

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail• Excellent spoken and written communication skills• Excellent organisational and time management skills• Ability to work independently and with others• Good IT skills• The ability to manage own workload and prioritise to meet deadlines• Ability to work in the strictest confidence• Career progression and legal training with the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) for the right candidate• At least one year of legal experience in a similar role would be preferable, but for the right candidate relevant experience in other industries will be considered.

Although the firm’s standard full time hours are 38.75, my client will consider a minimum of 30 hours Monday to Friday.
