Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Director to lead and enhance the operations at our factory. This pivotal role requires a strong leader who can drive productivity improvements, standardize processes, and foster a culture of excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 35, implementing formal systems, and taking the team on a transformative journey towards operational efficiency and enhanced performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Implement strategies to improve performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Manage the factory to achieve key operational targets and company objectives.

Performance Improvement

  • Assess the current state of manufacturing operations, identifying gaps in performance data and information.
  • Develop and implement robust performance metrics and reporting systems.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.

Process Standardization

  • Develop and implement standardized processes to ensure consistency and high-quality output.
  • Establish best practices in manufacturing operations and ensure adherence across teams.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure the factory complies with all health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, providing training and resources to ensure a safe working environment.

System Implementation

  • Evaluate current systems and processes, identifying areas for modernization and formalization.
  • Implement new systems to streamline operations, improve communication, and enhance decision-making.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of 35, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Provide coaching, development, and mentorship to team members.
  • Communicate a clear vision and take the team on a journey of change and improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Proven track record in a senior manufacturing leadership role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage, and develop teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Systems Implementation: Experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing formal systems to improve operations.
  • Health & Safety: Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable Attributes
