We are looking for an enthusiastic an Unqualified PE Teacher to join the team of a commited school that specialises in supporting children with special educational needs. Physical activity is important for the quality of education and ensuring all opportunities are maximised easpeciialy in a way that promotes positive social interaction.

This school caters for those with underlying causes of difficult behaviours between the ages of 5-19, located in Eastbourne, they enable re-engagement and support pupils to develop strategies for regulation, pro-social behaviours and resilience.

Responsibilities of an PE Teacher:

  • To ensure the effective teaching of Physical Education and Outdoor Education, providing opportunities for pupils from all abilities in KS2, 3 and 4 with lessons that are planned with clear aims and objectives.
  • To ensure lessons are delivered in line with national guidance, up-to-date practice and school policies.
  • To take into account the differing ability of students and differentiate work accordingly.
  • To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress.
  • To provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
  • To deal with inappropriate behaviour quickly and effectively according to the school behaviour policy.
  • To check that all subject matter is effectively communicated and understood by all groups of students.
  • To set appropriate tasks and challenges for homework and ensure that it is regularly marked with constructive feedback.

Requirements of a PE Teacher:

  • Has knowledge of the National Curriculum and how to apply it to teaching
  • A positive, proactive and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player and has great communication skill
  • Ability to build up good working relationships with pupils and staff
