A special school seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our dynamic team, supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of complex and significant learning difficulties. Ability levels circa KS1 - KS2.

The school is committed to providing a unique and specialised curriculum to enable each student to reach their full potential.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs, focusing on communication, literacy, independence, community access, and world awareness.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans based on each student’s EHCP.
  • Engage students in learning activities that are both educational and enjoyable, adapting to their unique learning styles.
  • Collaborate with families, external agencies, and co-located schools to support the holistic development of students.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to sensory or physical difficulties, as well as communication and interaction challenges.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in special education.
  • Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and experience with EHCPs.
  • Ability to address complex cognitive, social, emotional, communicative, sensory, and physical needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong commitment to student development and a belief in high aspirations for pupils with learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents.
  • A creative and flexible approach to teaching that ensures learning is fun and engaging.
