Following significant expansion in recent years, our client is seeking a motivated Group Financial Accountant to join their friendly finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to both daily financial reporting and strategic improvement projects.We are looking for a qualified Group Financial Accountant to maintain and improve the financial reporting processes across the group. With a focus on consolidation, statutory reporting, and driving operational excellence, this role provides a blend of technical accounting and collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation.What will the Group Financial Accountant role involve?

  • Prepare and maintain accurate accounts for non-operational Group entities and the parent organisation within reporting deadlines.
  • Consolidate monthly management accounts and forecasts, resolving queries with operational entities.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for group entities, ensuring compliance with acquisition accounting standards.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and fixed asset accounts, maintaining accurate control accounts.
  • Support tax reporting and ensure VAT compliance across group companies.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes and support wider business initiatives.

Suitable Candidate for the Group Financial Accountant vacancy:

  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with a strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS, particularly acquisition accounting.
  • Knowledge of VAT reporting and tax compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A proactive, methodical approach with a proven ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring a team is desirable.
