A key position has become available for a Group Financial Accountant to support a growing organisation's finance function in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.

This pivotal role is responsible for delivering accurate and compliant financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, supporting the Group's financial health and operational efficiency.

The position requires a qualified accountant with a strong grasp of UK GAAP/IFRS standards, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to driving improvements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate accounts for non-operational Group entities and the Parent organisation, ensuring compliance with Group reporting deadlines.
  • Resolve queries relating to the consolidation of monthly management accounts and forecasts, working closely with operational Accountants.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for group entities, including acquisition accounting and fair value adjustments, ready for auditor review.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare monthly control accounts.
  • Review and control fixed asset accounts, ensuring alignment with relevant ledgers across Group companies.
  • Post standard monthly journals using Business Central/Dynamics 365.
  • Manage monthly management fee recharges and oversee intercompany balances and recharges.
  • Assist with information collation for the annual audit process and external reporting requirements.
  • Maintain tax-related evidence and prepare tax entries for consolidation into Group VAT and Corporate Tax returns.
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments as required to support the business.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with a strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS accounting standards, particularly acquisition accounting and capitalisation of costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills; experience with Dynamics 365 is desirable.
  • Experience in tax reporting and maintaining compliant VAT records.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a wider team.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team and driving improvements through a root-cause approach.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to adjust priorities in line with changing business needs.
