A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Driver to join a market-leading Engineering company. Based out of the Eastleigh branch, this role will cover the South Coast region, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery, collection, and installation of pumping equipment across customer sites.
As an HGV Driver, you will play a key role in delivering, collecting, and installing pumps and associated equipment between branches and customer sites. You will operate within a fast-paced environment, working closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to meet business needs while upholding high health and safety standards.
This role requires a Class 2 HGV licence and involves working with lorry-mounted cranes, supporting installation teams, and engaging in on-site setup across various locations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver, collect, and install pumping equipment between branches and customer sites, ensuring compliance with road transport and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-use vehicle checks and comply with Department of Transport regulations and The Highway Code.
- Secure all loads safely to prevent movement during transit, including manual handling of hoses and associated equipment.
- Operate lorry-mounted cranes safely to install and remove pumping equipment.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork, ensuring all items are accounted for and discrepancies are recorded.
- Work in accordance with tachograph rules, drivers' hours regulations, and the Working Time Directive.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any defects promptly.
- Support out-of-hours call-outs, participating in an on-call rota when required.
- Liaise with customers and site representatives to ensure a professional, customer-focused service at all times.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including risk assessments for loading/unloading activities and site installations.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Full LGV Class 2 (HGV Category C) licence with no more than 6 points.
- Previous experience as an HGV Driver, ideally within a construction, utilities, or plant hire environment.
- Physically fit, able to climb onto lorry beds and secure loads safely.
- Hands-on installation/assembly skills, comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Proficient in using tablet devices for job logging and paperwork.
Preferred
- HIAB/ALMI certificate.
- Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- CPCS Lorry Loader (HIAB) or CPCS Loading & Securing certification.
- Plant Loader/Securer certificate.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (training can be provided).
- Driver Qualification Card / Periodic CPC Certification.
- ADR Qualification.
- First Aid Certification.
