We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Lead with expertise in Kubernetes, Ansible, and Terraform to manage and optimise the development and operations processes. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team in building, deploying, and scaling our infrastructure, ensuring smooth, automated operations across all environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure, configuration management, container orchestration, and automation, with the ability to lead projects and mentor the DevOps team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kubernetes Orchestration:Design, deploy, and manage containerised applications using Kubernetes, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and scalability across environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform):Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Configuration Management (Ansible):Implement and manage configuration management solutions with Ansible to automate the deployment and configuration of systems and applications.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management:Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, integration, and testing, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) while managing infrastructure scalability, performance, and cost.
  • Automation and Monitoring:Automate key processes, including deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure scaling, using best-in-class tools and practices to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Security and Compliance:Implement DevSecOps practices to embed security into the development lifecycle and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate DevOps best practices and deliver seamless, automated workflows across the organisation.
  • Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and guide a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and ownership.
  • Incident and Problem Management:Oversee incident response and troubleshooting efforts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimal disruption to business operations.

Qualifications:

  • Kubernetes Expertise:Proven experience in deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes, with a strong understanding of container orchestration and scaling.
  • Terraform Proficiency:Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, automation, and management in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ansible Experience:Proficient in using Ansible for configuration management, automation, and orchestration across complex infrastructure.
  • Cloud Platforms:Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), including architecture, automation, and optimisation.
  • CI/CD Practices:Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Automation and Monitoring Tools:Proficiency in automation tools (eg, Bash, Python, or PowerShell) and monitoring solutions (eg, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • DevSecOps:Understanding of security best practices, with experience in embedding security into the CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure as code.
  • Leadership Skills:Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing DevOps team.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management.
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Knowledge of Docker and microservices architecture.
