CNC Turner

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join a specialist precision engineering company who are based in the Southampton area.As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and programming Fanuc Lathes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of the components produced.

CNC Turner Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, milling etc.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the necessary programming and tooling for the job.
  • Program machines using Fanuc controls and perform test runs to ensure proper functioning.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect any issues and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner or similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines, specifically with Fanuc controls.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of safety procedures and guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
Day-to-Day
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings.
  • Program CNC machines based on job requirements and specifications.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, monitoring operations and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and address any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
Hours
  • Monday to Thursday - 6am to 4.15pm
