Contracts Manager - Eastleigh
An exciting opportunity in Eastleigh waits for a Contracts Manager to join a prominent housing association company on a permanent basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part managing fire safety and building safety major works across all building categories, including high-rise, mid-rise, and low-rise buildings, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO 2005) and the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA 2022).

To oversee contracts, project delivery, financial forecasting, procurement of consultants, and act as the client-side competent person for critical projects.

This position will include the following responsibilities:
  • Manage fire safety and building safety major works projects from inception to
  • Completion
  • Conducting risk assessments for each project & ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
  • Undertake regular site inspections to assess the quality of works and ensure compliance
  • with safety regulations
  • Liaise with contractor to ensure works completed are in line with signed contractual terms
  • Procure appropriate contractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and value-for-money
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes effectively
Requirements:
  • Qualified to HNC level in a building related discipline and / or demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within a housing association or contractor
  • Knowledge of fire safety and building safety regulations, including FSO 2005 and BSA 2022
  • Strong understanding of Fire risk assessments and key performance indicators (KPIs) in construction projects
  • Fire safety qualification such as Fire Risk Assessment, NEBOSH etc
  • Relevant driving licence
