With a strong focus on sustainability, our Engineering client is advancing its ESG initiatives and is in search of an ESG Coordinator to drive their environmental strategy. This role will be pivotal in managing key sustainability projects, reporting on environmental performance, and promoting best practices across the organisation.

The ESG Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of the company's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and driving sustainability initiatives across the business.

This position will involve working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to collect and manage environmental data, support ESG reporting, and help deliver projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and input data related to Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 GHG emissions, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Support the implementation of ESG monitoring processes and coordinate pilot programs for new protocols.
  • Administer workshops, meetings, and projects aligned with the Environmental Management Plan and long-term sustainability strategies.
  • Engage with employees on environmental sustainability, raising awareness and promoting ESG activities across the organisation.
  • Assist in preparing environmental reports, including energy usage, emissions data, and disclosures for tenders and prequalifications.
  • Contribute to the development of new ESG solutions, referencing key sustainability standards such as the GHG Protocol, UN SDGs, PRI, and GRESB.
  • Identify and propose energy efficiency projects, ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and policy developments, keeping the ESG team updated on relevant findings.
  • Provide ad hoc support on wider ESG activities such as Supply-Chain Management, waste reduction, and circular economy initiatives.
  • Travel occasionally to support business projects and activities as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering key sustainability projects and ensuring that the business is equipped with the tools and guidance needed to achieve its ESG goals.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A recognised degree or qualification in environmental science, sustainable development, climate change, energy management, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in an ESG or EHS-related position.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data management and reporting tools, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and simple manner.
  • Experience with ISO standards, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, with the ability to conduct audits.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting and disclosure requirements, with knowledge of key frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, GRI, and SASB being highly desirable.
  • Intellectual agility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects, prioritising tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
