Our client, a well-established and highly regarded company within their sector, is seeking an organised and proactive Business Manager to join their small and friendly team. This hands-on role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, strong execution skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The company fosters a culture of high-quality standards within a supportive and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily business operations, collaborating proactively with senior leadership to develop and implement long-term business strategies.
  • Ensure the office maintains a suitable, sustainable, and well-equipped working environment with the necessary IT infrastructure.
  • Support the CEOs in developing the organisation's strategy and annual business plan.
  • Supervise and line-manage the administrative team.
  • Lead on telecommunications, mobile services, and CRM system management.
  • Negotiate and manage key contracts, including insurance, financial and legal services, health and safety, HR consultancy, utilities, and general maintenance.
  • Maintain strong relationships and service level agreements with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Ensure contracts, policies, and procedures comply with legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee human resources management, including health & safety and employee wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies and innovative digital solutions.
  • Manage financial operations, including:
    • Regular financial reporting (monthly/quarterly/annual) to the CEO/Board, liaising with external accountants as necessary.
    • Budgeting, cash flow management, expense tracking, profit & loss analysis, and forecasting.
    • Payroll management for office staff, committees, and board members.
    • Managing pay uplift processes, including recommendations and implementation.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.

Requirements

  • Degree-level education or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional qualifications such as AAT, CIM, CIPD, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.
  • Experience in human resources management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement business projects.
  • Confidence in adopting and deploying digital tools, with a strong understanding of IT.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • A stable career history.
