Claims Data Manager: The new Claims Data & Analytics team is looking for an experienced Manager to lead the Data side of the team. The ideal candidate would be deeply experienced in working with data and enjoy forming relationships with stakeholders and understanding their needs. In this role, you will lead on several high-profile, high-impact projects, in particular the “Claims Data Squad” – the project to replatform Claims data to enable better automation and move the Claims function, as well as the business, towards enhanced data-led decision making.

As Claims Data Manager, you will play a key role in the success of the business through the provision of high-quality claims data and state-of-the-art reporting suite. You will have the freedom to shape your area of the team, to best enable us to reach these goals. The ability to prioritise in managing projects and stakeholders is essential, as is the desire to develop others and work as a team.The key accountabilities of the Claims Data Manager role include:
- Play a key role in driving the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy for Claims, aligned to the UK data strategy and the overall business strategy.
- Ensure the department and wider business stakeholders get maximum value from the Central Data Platform by understanding and articulating claims data requirements and acting as the Product Owner within the Claims Data squad.
- Lead on the design and build of the extensive Claims Dashboard suite, working with stakeholders at all levels to understand requirements, while ensuring consistency and best practice.
- Take responsibility for the provision of accurate data to third parties, including the regulator, ABI, and benchmarking partners.Support the implementation of the company data governance policies and data quality standards to ensure integrity and accuracy of claims data.
- Drive the development of skills and capabilities of direct reports and assist with training the wider team and claims function where there are gaps in data literacy.
- To be successful in being considered for the Claims Data Manager role you will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- A deep understanding of data, data quality and credibility, the importance and potential of rich, complete and accurate data, and a broad knowledge of how it is used across the business.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive through change.
- A proven track record in planning and project management, with the ability to form a plan, manage priorities, report on delivery and achieve key milestones.
- Prior experience of leading a team, and confidence with resource planning.
- The ability to communicate complex messages both at senior management level and at delivery team level, along with the wider Claims department and peers in the business.
- A numerate degree, apprenticeship or advanced qualification is an advantage but not essential.
