Our client is looking for Personal Security Vetting Analyst / Vetting Officer to join a team based in Eastleigh, Hampshire. Hybrid working available after completion of induction.

Purpose

To conduct all pre and post employment vetting procedures in accordance with the National Vetting Code of Practice and associated vetting checks within the guidance set by College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP) 2021 requirements.

Key Responsible

  • Conduct vetting checks for Officers and Staff researching the applicant’s professional and private life, financial affairs, associations and employment history
  • Conduct vetting checks for contractors, subcontractors and agency staff engaged by the police force and to advise on the suitability for employment.
  • Maintain, update and archive documents/files to ensure that the system is accurate.
  • Identify, investigate and assess any matter relating to the applicant’s suitability for employment which may be a potential threat to security. Make decisions on the information found whether further research is required and provide a report regarding concerns.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous vetting experience essential
  • Proven research and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy, tact and discretion in the managing of sensitive and confidential information
  • Methodical and thorough approach to work
  • A desire to show initiative
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Good at multitasking and prioritising workloads 
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience and understanding of police systems, Outlook, Word, Excel

Desirable Criteria:

  • Holds active SC/NPP3 vetting with a police force or be willing to undertake the necessary vetting

This is a temporary role for an initial 6 months, paying £17.58 per hour PAYE. Applications welcome for full-time
