To contribute to the profitable development and maximise the performance of the Ageas Household portfolio by assisting in the development and improvement of pricing, underwriting and products through all distribution channels.

Main Responsibilities as a Senior Household Underwriter:

  • To provide senior underwriting management of the Household underwriting portfolio, working with external partners and Ageas staff to develop and grow profitable accounts and deliver against our strategic ambition and Plan KPIs.
  • To research, develop and recommend new underwriting concepts utilising market and competitor analysis to maximise account profitability.
  • Own the underwriting management of an agreed portfolio of key accounts and products, working alongside external partners and Ageas Distribution teams in their development and growth.
  • To evaluate new scheme, affinity and product propositions in order to identify potential profitability and recommend any necessary underwriting changes.
  • To support the development of a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of Underwriting experts.

Skills and experience you need as a Senior Household Underwriter:

  • Ideally have experience of working in a Household Underwriting environment, with Personal Lines experience.
  • Experience in managing through the performance cycle and clear understanding of the drivers of underwriting results across all key performance indicators. Able to balance the technical and commercial priorities together in successfully managing a portfolio
  • Strong numeracy skills with an ability to analyse, interpret and identify trends within large volumes of data and to make and present clear and accurate recommendations.
  • Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office and be willing to learn new applications. Proficiency in data manipulation and reporting tools such as SAS and PowerBI.
