Hours:37 hours per week, plus 10 sleep-in shifts per month and overtime opportunities

Roster:3 week rolling roster to include weekends and Bank holidays

About the Role

As aResidential Childcare Support Worker,you will perform a vital role in our children's lives, working as part of a team, and being a responsible, trusted parent figure for looked-after children in care.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Building strong, positive relationships with children who have experienced traumatic and difficult backgrounds
  • Supporting their educational and emotional development, helping them to heal and thrive
  • Plan and co-ordinate engaging, fun activities, encouraging the childrens leisure interests
  • Ensure a structured, safe, comfortable home environment
  • Follow regulatory processes using IT, good administration and record keeping

For Team Leaders, the duties will be as above, with the additional responsibilities of running the shift, roster planning and supporting the team through positive mentorship and role-modelling.

About you

To succeed as aResidential Childcare Support Worker, were looking for candidates who are:

  • Dedicated to child safeguarding
  • Empathetic and effective communicators, able to form trusted, meaningful relationships with children
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in childrens welfare
  • Resilient and patient, capable of handling challenging behaviours
  • Proactive and creative in activity planning
  • Capable of practical life skills including cooking, cleaning and good home management
  • Detail-oriented and competent users of IT, to ensure that every childs needs are met and documented in line with regulatory expectations and standards

For Team Leaders, it is essential to have at least one years experience in residential childcare and a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).

Essential must haves

A valid UK driving licence, proximity to Fair Oak, Eastleigh with a willingness to pursue relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Families Practitioner.
