About Us:

Our client's mission is simple: to make every green space in our area a haven for residents, visitors, and wildlife alike. As part of the Neighbourhood and Green Spaces team, you'll play a crucial role in driving improvements, ensuring top-notch service, and upholding a reputation as a leader in public space management.

Your Role:

As the Public Open Spaces Manager, you'll take the reins of a large team and oversee the operational and strategic management of all public open spaces in the area. From play areas to cemeteries, and pest control to tree nurseries, you'll ensure everything runs like a well-oiled (and eco-friendly!) machine.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the operational management of staff and resources, ensuring KPIs are smashed.
  • Keeping our client compliant with legislation and at the forefront of health and safety standards.
  • Managing budgets like a pro while identifying opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Mentoring and inspiring your team, fostering collaboration and success.
  • Leading exciting projects that leave a lasting mark on our community.
What We're Looking For:

You'll need:

  • A professional management qualification or solid management experience in horticulture/waste cleansing.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • A knack for strategy, budget management, and performance improvement.
  • A passion for creating vibrant, sustainable public spaces.

Desirable Extras:

  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Five+ years in a management role.
